The Skills Academy has been established with the combined vision of making India a true “Knowledge Economy” by bringing credible investment in the job related skills, and aims to provide employment opportunities to youth across the country, thus, making them job ready. They aspire to enhance workforce effectiveness by leveraging in-depth industry experience to develop innovative skills and training solutions along with a sustainable impact to the industry and society. Their vision is to build a scalable, for-profit Skills and Livelihood Development business that significantly enhances earning capacity and thereby creates social impact. They work holistically with the 3C’s – Communities, Colleges and Corporates. At The Skills Academy, have designed “Science of learning” combined with an industry proven toolkit. This helps to match student aspirations with necessary skills required by the industry, build domain experts, enhance industry-academia partnerships, provide “paths to progress” through continuous education and skilling and build strong placement networks.
They have trained and placed over 500 learners in the last 8 months across geographies catering to the employment needs of a wide range of industries including Banking, BPO, Hospitality, Quick Service Restaurants, and Retail. Astric has partnered with Skills to commence the "STAR" Scheme under the National Skill Certification and Reward Scheme branded as the STAR (Standard Training Assessment & Reward) Scheme has been formulated to encourage skill development for youth by providing monetary rewards for successful completion of approved training programs. It aims to increase productivity of the existing workforce and align the training and certification to the needs of the country. To provide Monetary Awards for Skill Certification to boost employability and productivity of youth by incentivizing them for skills training. Reward candidates undergoing skill training by authorized institutions at an average monetary reward of Rs.10,000 (Rupees Ten Thousand) per candidate. Benefit 10 lakh youth at an approximate total cost of Rs.1,000 Crores.
